So six weeks has passed very quickly since we found out that we were expecting and even though we had high hopes of not revealing our news before we hit that twelve week mark, we have hit ten weeks today and... well... everyone knows.
At ten weeks baby has formed his/her internal organs and is now basically a really tiny version of a baby and all that is really left to do is to grow bigger. We have had two ultrasounds so far, one at six weeks four days which was to confirm the pregnancy and make sure everything was as it should be (one visible little baby with a 132 bpm heartbeat) and one at nine weeks four days as due to my high hormone levels there was some concern that there was more than one baby but we got the all clear on one strong, healthy little baby measuring in at 31.6 mm and with a 163 bpm heartbeat (which we got to hear). The ultrasound pictures just look like fuzz to me, but I have included some anyway.
The last few weeks have been pretty rough to be honest. Morning sickness is a dreadful thing and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. I have become a regular at the hospital with quite a few visits under my belt so far and as much as everyone tells me differently, I really don't feel that this is an experience I am likely to forget in the near future.
We have decided we are definitely finding out baby's gender when it is possible, even though some of you think we shouldn't. We are about as good at surprises as we are at keeping secrets, so it can't really come as a surprise to those of you who know us really well.
Not much else to report at this stage...
