And baby makes three...
Yup, you read it right. We are having a baby.
Ben and I found out on Wednesday the 21st August that we are indeed pregnant. I have been feeling a little off colour and just generally unusual and not myself. After talking with Ben and also realising that I was actually a little late (too much info, I know) we decided that after I finished work we would go and buy a test just to rule being pregnant out as a possible cause. I know that neither of us genuinely thought that it was actually an option, which only contributed to our stunned reactions an hour or so later when Ben heard a startled exclamation coming from the bathroom and stormed in to see if everything was OK. What Ben did see was a positive pregnancy test being thrust in front of his face and a pretty shocked wife. Ben burst out laughing (pretty sure that was the shock) and I quickly convinced him to drive me back to the shops and buy another test... just to make sure.
This time we picked up the 'top of the line' digital test with conception indicator. Sounds fancy, doesn't it. As I am sure you have already figured out, it indeed confirmed that we are expecting a baby. Thanks to that handy conception indicator, we were also able to work out that we were almost five weeks pregnant.
It has taken me a day or so to really get used to our news. To be honest at first I was more scared and anxious than excited, but after doing a fair bit of research, making up some spreadsheets, talking to Ben and my best friend (who I can not thank enough for her help and support with all my questions) and having our first Doctor's appointment (who confirmed we have a healthy pregnancy and confirmed our five week mark), I can now safely say that the excitement has hit and I cannot wait to share this amazing journey with the man I love (who is going to make one mighty fine Daddy) as well as with our family and friends.
